QiMET UK Country Centre

QiMET UK is based at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and is fully supported by the Executive team at the Trust. QiMET UK’s role is split into three parts:

Governance / GMC and Royal College compliance
Our QiMET UK team take responsibility for organising all paperwork and documentation to ensure the smooth transition of our trainees to work in the UK. Our UK team manage all communications to enable our Fellowship doctors to work in the UK from, communicating with Royal Colleges, to the safe transition of each doctor to settle in their NHS sponsorship hospital meeting statutory and legal requirements to work as a doctor in the UK.

Our Programme Manager Mr Tony Holder, provides a personalised and bespoke journey for all NHS Trusts who are seeking to sponsor place HYBRID Trainees in their NHS Trust.

Gap analysis for the Medical Workforce shortage in UK NHS Trusts
QiMET UK work with a wider team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching hospitals NHS Trust to identify medical workforce specialties that are experiencing extreme shortages and face challenges in the recruitment of doctors. Our team explores the potential for mutual benefit between the UK and our Country centre overseas, to develop a Fellowship programme of the highest quality and at the lowest cost.

Ground-breaking medical education scheme is nominated for pair of national awards

A scheme which brings first-year emergency medicine students from Nepal over to Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH), to participate in two years of study and practise, has been nominated for a pair of Health Service Journal (HSJ) awards.
