Privacy Policy and GDPR Compliance

QiMET International is GDPR compliant and is a registered company with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). This privacy policy will explain how QiMET uses the personal data we collect from you when you:

  1. apply for a course, event or a programme
  2. visit our website

This privacy policy also sets out our position to data collected by our Fellows registered onour Fellowship programmes.

  1. Application for a Fellowship Programme
    We will ask you to submit a proposal for your Fellowship, along with supplying personal data that includes your address, telephone number, email address and a photograph.
  1. Receipt of your proposal and application
    When we receive your proposal / application we will formally acknowledge your registration on the programme and outline a timeline of stages of the programme and projected completion date.
  1. Registering your Research with the Hospital’s Audit and Quality Improvement department.
    All projects undertaken with QiMET international will need to be registered formally with the hospitals Audit and Quality Improvement department. This is important for many reasons, but primarily you will usually be unable to publish your work if you are unable to demonstrate that the project has undergone governance checking and registration at the hospital.
  1. Providing a summary of your Fellowship for the website
    Once your research has been registered with the Hospital department’s Audit and Quality Improvement department, we will ask you to supply a summary of your research focus to be made available on the QiMET international website along with your photograph and contact email address.
  1. Our organisational relationship with Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Trust
    QiMET international has signed an MOU to work with Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust. We may invite you to participate in events linked to our work at this hospital.
  1. The role of our Faculty Members and our privacy policy
    All of our Faculty members are NHS clinicians or NHS data analysts. We are familiar with the legal requirements of being GDPR compliant. Our Faculty members will provide you with personalised or group teaching, when supporting you to understand your data for your research. However our Faculty members will ask you to hide or delete any patient identification numbers or details in your data before helping you to analyse your data. Our Faculty members do not expect to have any access to patient names, addresses or any other patient identifying information.
  1. Data held about you on the QiMET international website
    With your consent we will make your contact email address available underneath the summary of your research project, so that any prospective and current students can make contact with you if they are interested in undertaking a similar study. We will respect your privacy should you wish not to provide a contact email address. We also aim to provide links on the website to articles published by you while studying for the Fellowship programme. We will not reveal or disclose your telephone number or personal details such as your home address. Your home address and telephone number is only to be used to make contact with you regarding providing support to you while you are studying for the Fellowship.
  1. Completion of the Fellowship in Research (FRES)
    Once you have completed the Fellowship, we will invite you to participate in the QiMET International Alumni network, where your status will be upgraded from a student to a Faculty member. We will invite you to teach or mentor doctors who are on the programme from the UK or overseas.  Your data in relation to your contact details will remain private.
  1. How do we collect data on you?
    You directly provide QiMET International with most of the data that we collect. We collect data and process data when you:
    • register online or by-word document or you buy any of our services
    • voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email
    • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies

    QiMET international may also collect data indirectly when you register for one of our courses or provide your details through the Eventbrite booking website.

    QiMET International collects your data so that we can:
    • Process your application, manage your account
    • Email you with special offers on other services that we think you might like, for example summer schools, or courses

    We will not share your information with any third party organisation unless this is related to our partner organisation WAML.uk and where we feel you may be interested in programmes and courses.

  1. How do we store your data?
    QiMET International securely stores your data at its Head office. Our data will be deleted at the end of your Fellowship programme unless you seek to continue to study with us through your PhD.
  1. Marketing
    We will not share your information with any third party unless this is the World Academy of Medical Leadership , our partner organisation. We may ask you on occasion to provide us with evaluation data for programmes that we run and ask if we can use your feedback as a testimonial on our website. We will only use this information with your consent.

You have the right to stop any marketing information coming to you at any time, or instructing us not to share information with our partner organisation.

  1. What are your data protection rights?
    QiMET international would like to make sure that you are fully aware of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – you have the right to request QiMET International for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – you have the right to request that QiMET international correct any information that you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request QiMET International complete information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that QiMET international erase your personal data under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing You have the right to request that QiMET international restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability You have the right to request that QiMET International transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you under certain conditions.
