#QILS Emergency Medicine

Aims of the Lecture Series
The aim of this weekly lecture series is to provide MBBS doctors seeking a career in the speciality of Emergency Medicine, to advance their learning and practice.


Objectives

  1. support MBBS doctors to access a series of lectures centred on the first two years of the Acute Cor Common Stem Programme of the RCEM 2015 curriculum
  2. provide peer learning, feedback and a community of practice for MBBS doctors pursuing a career in Emergency Medicine
  3. support the development of new learning to be applied to practice to
    – assess any acutely ill patient
    – commence resuscitation
    – diagnose the most likely underlying problem
    – initiate appropriate investigations
    – liaise with in-patient teams to ensure appropriate definitive care


Learning Outcomes
This lecture series encourages reflection on learning and supports the continuous development and preparation for MRCEM examinations.


What can you expect from the QILS – Emergency Medicine?
You will be part of an energetic, enthusiastic learning community that aspires to improve the quality of care to patients in the Emergency Department. We seek out forward thinking concepts in teaching and learning online and encourage you to participate and get the most out of peer and shared learning. At the end of each month you will get a CPD certificate of attendance, with details of the learning sessions you have attended. We will also invite you to give online feedback to tell us what you liked about the learning in the previous month and how we can improve the lectures that we provide.


Teaching Faculty

Our QILS Emergency Medicine Teaching Faculty consist of a team of Emergency Medicine UK NHS and International Consultants who use Evidence based Medicine to support all teaching sessions. In addition, our QILS Emergency Medicine teaching is centred on the GMC Good Medical Practice and the Generic Professional Capability Framework.
